Central Park Sights


We hired bicycles to spin round Central Park and one of the 'must sees' on my list was Belvedere Castle which overlooks the Turtle Pond and great views northwards.

It was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux in the 1800's as a folly with this observation deck

  6. Wonderful medley of photos to see the area. Getting around on a bicycle was a wise choice. Would like to have been in one of the boats on the lake!

  9. I've never seen the Belvedere Castle so I'm enjoying your photos. Central Park is such an amazing place. I think most people don't realize just how big it is.

  11. i live in new jersey, have been to nyc soooooo many times. through your wonderful posts, i am seeing things i have never seen before. your trip, proves to me, that we take things for granted in our own area. that we don't appreciate and explore the familiar. thanks for showing me all the great parts of nyc that i am missing - and many thanks for your extremely kind comment on my post today!!!

  21. Central Park makes NYC...a splendid oasis in the middle of concrete and steel and masses of humanity...your photos do it justice... beautiful.
