Five Geese A Swimming

Instead of Six geese a-laying as the Christmas song goes, we saw only five geese a-swimming along the Lagan towpath and they were quite vocal in their disapproval of our presence!

...and then, heads held high, they swam off!

Thanks for your visit!

  12. I live between a small commercial park and a huge resort golf course and in the winter there are lots of geese living in the area on the three small lakes that are available. I usually hear them squawking away when I walk past. What really gets me is how they squawk when they are flying. A group will fly over my place when moving from one lake to another and they all are squawking loudly as the fly over.

  16. Nice photos, Christine. I see in the second photo that they decided to look at the annoying presence of the photographer but you're giving them internationally fame during the festive season which is priceless for those five geese. Who knew that they lived so close to you. :)

  20. Maybe it was more that they thought you should have brought them something to eat! When we were visiting my daughter who lived in a complex that had ponds in the middle, every time this coot heard my granddaughter it followed along wherever we went. She and her mom had stopped once and got food for them, and this one never forgot her. It did not do it if it were me and daughter, but if Lorelei was there, here it came.
