Ballymac Mural

Murals there are a-plenty on the Newtownards Road area of East Belfast and I snapped this just last week.

This is by Northern Irish muralist Craig Dee and local youth.

Youth from nearby Ballymac Friendship Centre designed the first at the bottom of the Newtownards Road in East Belfast. Girls feature prominently along with themes of racial and ethnic diversity, education, and dance. Robyn Buseman and Willis “Nomo” Humphrey from the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Project flew to Northern Ireland to assist in the installation. (Swarthmore.edu.)

  7. I love murals, and this one is gorgeous!! The colors and the theme. I see it says "You are never too old to set another goal". That is a happy and encouraging thought. Do you know who the man is?

    1. Yes, he is author C.S. Lewis & he spent his early years in this area.
There is a square dedicated to his memory a mile or so away.
I posted about it back in March if you are interested!
