Friday Favourites

The Twelve Arches Bridge, Murlough County Down.

On our Granite Trail Hike in the Mournes we passed an old disused quarry. Interesting to have a look around....

A waterfall has formed there.

The bare face of the quarry.

Thanks for visiting

  8. Gorgeous, gorgeous pictures! The intensity of the blue sky, the beautiful stone of the bridge, and the reflections. There is beauty everywhere you look in these pictures. What is that small stone object on the left? Is this a walking bridge, or do cars drive across? I think it is fun snooping around old quarries. And what a surprise this one had! A glorious waterfall, and such clear water at the bottom.

    1. Thanks Ginny! The object is in fact a stone pillar which marks the point of a small tributary of the river and possibly also is there as a land boundary between farms.
The bridge is used by all kinds of vehicles and has been there over a hundred years!
