Friday Five from Nottingham

Glad to be back online after a week of internet issues, so apologies for missing out on visiting.

A better time was had when hubby and I flew over to Nottingham, England for a quick business/leisure trip so I thought I'd go ahead and share a few photos I snapped with my phone around the city centre.

Nottingham is famous for its hero Robin Hood and his Merry Men and here is a statue of the fearless outlaw!

The Exchange building overlooks the Market Square in the centre complete with water features which are great for a reflection op!

Nottingham also has a unique range of tunnels and caves which can be explored and these lie just under Nottingham Castle, which you can just see in the top left of this photo.

Another great reflection opportunity presented itself beside the Playhouse theatre.

This is Sky Mirror created by Anish Kapoor, who also is famed for Cloud Gate (or the big Jelly Bean!) in Chicago.

Timing wasn't great as the sun was directly hitting it!

This is the reverse side

This is the Sky Mirror side of the dish.

I have a few more photos to share next week.

  9. What a beautiful place Christine. The Sky Mirror immediately reminded me of the Bean in Chicago before you even mentioned it! I love it and that first photo of the Robin Hood statue too.
