Birds of Prey

As part of a local biodiversity and environmental education weekend, some bird handlers were invited along to the park to show their birds of prey.

This golden eagle was very coy and did not like to be in the spotlight!  Still, he was magnificent!

The Harris's Hawk was another beautiful bird...

My favourite though, was this Eurasian Owl.  His eyes were like amber.

He put on more of a show for us...

...and I could just imagine him swooping down to seize his prey!

  10. It would seem that large birds of prey would be hard to keep in captivity. They need lots of space to live and fly. - Margy
