DUMBO - How Sweet It Is!

This has to be one of my favourite photo ops - the Manhattan Bridge framing the Empire State Building from Washington Street in Brooklyn.

You can tell it has become a popular spot as there was a wedding group having photos taken when we arrived.

I loved the regeneration going on in the area and the revived buildings are a treat to see.
(More tomorrow)

I spotted the sign for Brooklyn and have to agree, 'How Sweet It Is!'

  20. This is wonderful ...the glorious bridge and architecture looking up and the fascinating detail on the water meter looking down...I've never seen one that detailed with compass directions (it would be helpful for me as I can get lost in a closet ...very poor sense of direction). It does seem like 'how sweet it is ' must be a good motto for this borough (and I'm old enough to be reminded of Jackie Gleason saying that in his show set there)!

    1. Christine, it was an old TV show called "The Honeymooners" ...back in the day of black and white only Television. Quite funny back in the day, but it would be maybe not so funny nowadays

  21. Photos are excellent...my old neighborhood...one of the apartments I lived in was above the BQE...neighbors told me the sound of the constant flow of traffic was just like ocean waves...never quite heard it like that...but I love Brooklyn just the same...glad to see you're having a blast.
