The busy bee...

This busy bee was out stocking up on reserves yesterday now that winter is waining and spring is gaining!

I was surprised but it seems in a mild winter as ours has been, bees can overwinter and forage during winter though in harsher climes, only the queen survives and  the larvae.

Happy weekend!

  14. Love to see the bees out and about! Yours is perfect timing with our weather in the Midwest...it was 70 degrees Thursday and our beehives were so active...I was thrilled to see they had survived the winter. And today...it was 12 degrees; Mother Nature is absolutely playing tricks on us!

  20. Lovely capture of the bee and pretty blossom! It's funny - I woke up this morning thinking of spring and bees and how I plan to look up flowers for attracting bees to my garden. It's early here, but I can't help looking forward to planning a new flower bed.
