Needle but no Haystack

To commemorate Lisburn's once thriving linen and thread industry, a large rusty needle has been erected in one of the town's central roundabouts.  It was designed by Martin Heron.

The thread of this needle has a message for any visitors as we like to think of ourselves as a friendly lot...

'if you get lost just stop and ask for directions.'

  1. I think it's a nice way to honour the industry and its past times this way, and the text is welcoming!
