Sign of Frustration!

This is the old radio control tower in the pier of Carrickfergus harbour.
It has bee derelict now for 40 years and has fallen into this state of disrepair.  We visited Carrickfergus last year when these photos were taken.

I cropped this photo of the sign - and do sympathise with the developer over such a waste of time and bureaucratic wrangling.

With gorgeous sea views on the one hand ...

...and the historic Norman castle of Carrickfergus on the other side...

.... surely this is a prime location to be developed for the good of the town and tourism?

  10. Well, he let his frustrations out with that sign. I, too, feel bad for the crushing of his dream. The views are beautiful. Your last photo is amazing.

  12. Fourteen years is a long time to wait for completion, they've probably lost his file!

  13. Ha Christine, Jammer dat de toren niet is onderhouden, is toch 'n stukje historie. Gelukkig is het kasteel nog redelijk oké, dat mag er oud uit zien.
    Groetjes Kees.

  14. Such a shame the owner of this property has been unable to do anything with it. Looks like a prime location that would benefit the community.

  15. Oh dear. I wonder what the other side of the story is? Or did they just forget about him. Yikes. Beautiful blue sky and water.
