  1. My older brother once was involved in installing the air conditioning system for a new Waffle House. He says they bury the key in the concrete since the restaurant is always open! Surely someone keeps a key! lol
    I do love their waffles.

  5. Is this the same Waffle House we have here in the US? They're mostly in the southern states, but we love the pecan waffles and grits :-) you can always count on a Waffle House!

  11. Love this! I practically grew up in Waffle house; my mom was a manager for many years!

  12. Oh my goodness, my husband is their biggest fan! Good food, quick service and the check is waiting on your table before you've finished eating. We've been told they are even open during hurricanes and they have generators in case the electricity goes out.

  16. We've had to stop into one of those more than once on our travels ... even when there is sunshine. I don't do well without a good breakfast ! I feel your pain about the rain while traveling.... we're in Washington State visiting family right now and it is gray and rainy ... the visit will be great, but there may not be any blog pictures!

  25. Haaa...I laughed out loud when I see Waffle House...we will be traveling Christmas Day this year and will not arrive at the destination until late afternoon...Waffle House may/probably will be where we will share our Christmas Meal. Too funny...but sure to be a good family story. :)

  26. When we are in Eugene, Oregon, we always eat at least one breakfast at the Pancake House. Nothing like a small, home cooking type of cafe. - Margy

  27. Oh wow. I wonder how they manage to keep a waffle house always open! Are there very many people who crave waffles at 2:00 A.M.? Around here pretty much the only places are gas stations/convenience stores, a few fast food drive-thrus and some 24-hour Walmarts.
