Tuesday's Treasures from Antrim

This is all that remains in Antrim Castle Gardens of the mansion of the Massereene/Ferrard family who were once the largest landowners in County Antrim. An act of terrorism is thought to have caused the house to burn down and this tower stands alone as a reminder of its glory days.

The tower makes me think of Rapunzel!

The families' Coat of Arms and crest is preserved in from to of the tower.

  19. Good morning Christine!:) Your photos are so crisp and clear. I like your first shot showing new and old architecture in the same picture. At least the tower survived, and the wonderful Coat of Arms.

I do hope your mother had a good time on holiday in the Algarve.:)
