Lancaster County, PA

We have been fortunate to visit several different Amish communities in different States, but
Amish country, Lancaster County PA, has become my favourite destination, inspite of it being quite 'touristy'.

When you leave the main roads and venture into the country roads, its just one of the most picturesque places, to me anyhow!

I love hearing the sound of horse and buggy passing.

Being a tourist, I do indulge in some shopping in a well loved barn...

The storm clouds rolled in with heavy rain that afternoon but the wet road provided a reflection photo opp for Weekend Reflections HERE

  32. Had great food in that area some time ago. Also discovered that I don't care for shoo fly pie. Loved the song about it - which reminds me that I must Google Apple Pan Dowdy.

  36. See my comment above and then I must tell you that when I was scanning Pinterest tonight, up popped Apple Pan Dowdy! Photo and recipe. I didn't search it, and I didn't Google it. Am I in the Twilight Zone or is Big Brother watching me? Of do these cookies extend much further than we thought? Spooky.
