Washington Meets Guyasuta

Point of view

Several hundred yards along Grandview Ave from the Duquesne Incline Station, you will see a very impressive monument erected in Point of View Park in 2006.

It is a sculpture in bronze by James A. West, depicting the encounter in 1770 between George Washington and Seneca leader Guyasuta as Washington sought new territory along the Ohio River.

Right at the heart of it all

Just to give you a sense of the size of this monument, this is my daughter, 5ft 8" in between them!
