Saturday's Critter

I think of this as a one shot wonder - a bit of a fluke really. I only just happened upon this as I was marching around the forest park on Thursday. The brightly coloured flowers seemed to light up as the sun came out from behind the clouds and I saw the fly, whipped out my phone and snapped it!
(I believe it is a hoverfly but feel free to correct me!)

  9. Great shot! And I agree with Tom, most of my best shots are flukes. You just have to be ready with that camera!

  10. I call them beeflies, but hoverfly as Eileen says is probably right.

Pretty! All the flowers are out, but the temps keep dropping too low for the pollinators here.
