Carrickfergus Castle

Last Monday, being Easter Monday and a public holiday in N. Ireland, we headed out as tourists ourselves to do some sightseeing.  The weather was unsettled but by the time we reached Carrickergus on the shores of Belfast Lough, the clouds broke up enough to let me take a few shots of
one of the Norman Castles still in great shape.

This square tower is the Keep.

The entrance.

Thanks for your visit.

    1. We didn't tour inside this time around but a few years back we did. There are great views over the ramparts and lots of interesting military displays inside.

  22. I am always amazed at what man was capable of building, without the equipment that we have available to us today. When you look at these structures, you realize that we really have no concept of the term manual labor. Nice set of images.
