Good Fences at the Folk Park

Time to link up with The Run-a-Round Ranch for Good Fences and today I am sharing several of my favourites from the Folk museum

I came across these old iron gates just propped against a whitewashed wall. Very unique pattern.

Great gates and whitewashed domed top pillars in traditional Irish style.

This was my favourite farmhouse with its stonewall and then a bright red picket fence .

The fence here is a work of art and skill of the weavers.  It is a lattice work fence woven from the willow branches grown here.  You can see the wooden bench where the branches are straightened.

Thanks so much for your visit and hope to hear from you.

  1. Hello Christine!:) My word, you have found some lovely and interesting gates to share this week. The bright red picket fence is very welcoming indeed. and the stone wall different with the more rounded stone on top. I like the gate with the traditional white pillars, which I first discovered on your blog, and the old rusty gates with the unusual pattern, which I haven't come across before. See you in May Christine!:)

  3. I LOVE all your fences this week...those old rusty ones in the first shot are wonderful. And I always go for a painted white fence, and rock walls/fences are probably my favorite of all.

  23. As I scrolled past each fence, I thought 'this is my favorite.' And then the next appeared, and that was my favorite. They just kept getting better. I appreciate the craftsmanship that went into these, especially the woven one. However, the stone is nice, too. The red pickets provide a nice splash of color. Love the iron gates, and the traditional Irish fence is something I've never seen, but it definitely makes a statement.
